Once you release the forward pin attachment on the wing and rotate it to vertical, which is necessary, it becomes like carrying a Really big sheet of plywood. I was lucky to be between two rows of t-hanger. Which usually put me in a wind shadow. 10 knots would have been a team challenge. I would put the wind limit at under 5 MPH. I know of at least one beautiful MKIII that was destroyed by a wind gust when folding. When in doubt get help or tie it down til the winds die down. It might be inconvenient but so is a rebuild. When tied down these planes can handle some big wind. Was camping under the wing of my plane at Airventure when a thunderstorm passed through. I looked out of the tent and could see light under the wheels. The next day I found no damage but one previously repaired flap had filled with water.
