Yeah it would. I am thinking it would also change the thrust line/angle, how would
that work?

I never noticed any effect that wouldn't trim out easily. It doesn't
require any physical change to the aircraft and it's reversible. Just
eight AN-3 bolts and the two AN-6's.
Rick
PS Trying to fix the need for the huge trim tab on the rudder I made a
motor mount plate that turned the engine 5 degrees out of line to the boom
C/L. Didn't make any difference whether I turned the mount over to get
that offset to the opposite side. The only thing I found that did work was
the lower prop rpm of the 4:1 gearbox. My Mk IIIC had a rudder trim tab
that was only 6 inches long and barely had a bend in it. I kept adjusting
until I needed just a touch of left rudder while climbing and a touch of
right rudder in cruise.

Richard
When I switched from a direct drive VW to reduction drive VW I had a 72"
prop with 7 inch clearance because of reduction drive. It was trimmable but
the first flight was exciting. This added new meaning to power/pitch trim
with the new set up also having about twice the thrust. To be clear the
reduction drive raised the thrust line 6". I flew it that way for about a
year. It is best to keep the trust line as low as possible because it flys
better. I wouldn't be concerned about a 1.5 inch change. Also consider that
the prop to boom clearance would be about the same so maybe the effective
total thrust line change might be less than 1.5.

Subject: | Where to buy Gear leg Airfoils? |
Hello Kolbrers,
I am wondering if one of you knows where I can buy plastic Airfoils for my gears
legs. I bought my kit third hand and I have a lot of extra tubing and other
odds and ends that seem to have not relation to the kit. I have enough Airfoil
for my wing struts, but the pieces for my gear legs are 10 short. Aircraft Spruce
only seems to have Aluminum Airfoils available.
Thanks for the help

I used to have a link, but can't find it now. How about:
https://dragonplate.com/streamlined-symmetrical-airfoil-carbon-fiber-tube-237-id-x-095-id-x-24?gclid=Cj0KCQiAk53-BRD0ARIsAJuNhpuI11I0O0Clqwo5Xw3OeOOgrvXt54TmodeWnsMcfpC_1FLm5BoL7PsaAvtKEALw_wcB
If those aren't big enough, you could try Van's Aircraft; they have a
couple of different fiberglass versions, and a wrapped aluminum version:
