The previous owner did a pretty good job on most everything. However, when inspecting the wings I noticed if I lay a straight edge on the nose of the ribs and the end of the rib (just in front of the rivet) that the straight edge is about 3/32" up above the front spar. This means there will be protrusions in the fabric at every rib once covered. It sounds like this should have been checked in the building process but got overlooked somehow. Short of unriveting everything off the leading edge spar and either rotating it (which would be weaker due to the holes) or just replacing it by getting the ribs back just a bit more, are the protrusions something I need to fix? I know I can tape over each one but is there a better way so the protrusions don't poke through the fabric? I don't feel comfortable taking a cutoff wheel to the rib protrusions as I could easily damage that leading edge spar with a little slip.
