Subject: | Re: Photo of rib |
I fixed these this weekend. I drilled out all the rivets where the false ribs
(both upper and lower) that stuck out. As you can see in the photo above, many
of the ribs were bent up where the rivet was. After removing the existing rivets
I took some padded pliers and bent that tip down. If the rib still stuck
out too far I took material off but leaving plenty of edge distance then put
a new rivet in. I got them all fixed and using a string across all the false
ribs they were still the same profile they should be, ie none were sticking up
too far nor below the others. It worked well.

Subject: | buying SS rivets from Spruce |
I worked on my wings this past weekend and I'm almost out of the 1/8 diax 1/4 grip SS pull rivets. I'm looking at Spruce and I think the ones I need are their CCP-44 found herehttps://www.aircraftspruce.com/catalog/pnpages/CCP-44.php Is this what comes in the kit for the 1/8x1/4 SS pull rivets? I'm guessing this is correct but I wanted to check.
Thanks,
Jay
