Keep the video running after you retreat from the field. Could be exciting. Okay Larry=85=85 I have one left over from an old BRS and need to get rid o f it. My desire was to watch it lift off. I thought it was =93a good idea =85=94 Instead, I will be calling the fire department has-mat handler and find out who disposes of this kind of stuff safely. Until I was about 30 I would do something that didn't work out, and when asked, re sponded with "It seemed like a good idea at the time". Then for the next th irty I was at the top of my game. Now I have reverted to - "It seemed like a good idea at the time", once again. I believe I would ask the Sheriff's dept for guidance. They should have a s afe place to dispose of them. Richard, I think youre dealing with propellants vs explosives. Less than 25,000 FPS. Probably significantly less. Difference is a non contained propellant isnt creating the brisance and over pressure of a high order explosive. Remove the 2lb slug and any other projectile, and burn in a pit. A long high temp burn would be preferable. Do it after sunset for entertainment value, lol. -------- Kolb Slingshot 582, C gearbox. Due to my previously posted incident, I got a new propeller. An Ultra Prop 2 from Competition Aircraft. Does anyone have experience with one? The owner, Bob Davis, is super helpful. He shipped fast. I got a 3 blade Ultra 2, but after some discussion, he thinks my Rotax 582 with 3.00:1 gear box will perform better with a 4 blade set up. My goal is the best stol and climb performance possible. Im waiting on a prop spacer so there isnt a repeat of the previous incident. I think Im close to getting this bird airborne..hopefully in the next week or so. -------- Kolb Slingshot 582, C gearbox. Here in the West things are so dry and people so nuts recentantly that I "assumed" people would go nuts if you shot off a rocket. Not to mention the possible terrorist aspect of things. :-) However it would not be amiss to at least let them know your intentions, and they might well tell you to "fire away". At least your butt would be covered. Larry

I also have a couple old chutes. The older one is from 1984. It's a BRS mortar type. I thought I might try attaching the projectile to the bridle of the chute that came with it. If it deployed it would pull the chute open. I never did try it. Maybe it won't work. The newer one is from 2000 and it's disassembled. Ed
