Unless you do something really rash, I wouldn't worry about that main spar too
much:
The friend who used to have the hangar next to mine had a FSII with a 582 that
was REALLY HEAVY and so was he.
He landed hard, broke the fitting that connects the axle to the landing gear leg,
stuck the remaining bit of landing gear into the ground, turned 180 degrees
and rolled it up. Broke his ankle.
Didn't hurt the main spar a bit.
And yes, we rebuilt it.
