People using the west system pumps occasionally have a problem, especially if the pump leaks back into the container and you do not get the fully required amount, or you do not push the plunger all the way tp the bottom. The easdiest way around this is to buy several large syringes at the drug store. This lets you stick the syringe into the fluid, extract the amount that you think will suit your needs at the moment. For example by experience I know that I will need 80 ml (cc) of finished epoxy, I mix 40 ml of each. To speed up the filling of the syringes I cut off the needle part and drill out the hole in the bottom of the syringe for faster filling and delivery. Next I cover the printed scale on the side with clear cello tape to prevent the solvents from removing the ink on the numbers of the scale. Next , make a holder for the syringe and sit it on the top of a tin can. Drips will go into the can. To prevent accidental errors I use a 50 ml syringe for the epoxy and a 30 ml syringe for the hardener. To further identify them to prevent accidental mixing I colour the end of the plunger red on one and blue on the other. I mark the clear plastic storeage containers with the name and colour code. I use clear plastic storeage containers (peanut butter jars) instead of glass. Once dropped and you will kanow why.
