Roma, how ar the plans for the fly-in going?
Do you suppose that any of you L-29 guys will fly this time?
Last year we had a good price on gas and only the L-39s & 2 L-29s flew. I know
there are more than 2 L-29s that were there.
I would like to bring my airplane down and do some formation. But, if nobody flys,
that would be an expensive bar-b-que for me. Those $400 hamburgers just turned
into a $2000 Bar-B.
Noel and I had a great time. How about some others joining us.
I would like to do a real formation clinic, with flying and everything! Even just
some formation practice. I'm not a bad instructor and I would love to teach
a clinic.
How about we pull the tail off an airplane and teach everybody how to do an annual
inspection? (a real one)
Just some thoughts.
Fly safe!

Marvin and Gary plan on coming and would be of any help we can.
Blake is an excellent instructor and I am almost sure he would like to ride
with anyone that is interested.
Tail off inspection would be a great idea.
Let's pull Bill's.
I will save all my $s to fly at LNC.
Gary

Pardon me for some very basic questions, as I've recently joined this list.
1. Where is the fly-in, please? Is it open invitation?
2. I was under the impression that the birds can only be flown from and
to the home airport, except for individual requests that each must be
approved by an FSDO. Am I incorrect in this?
I'm still working on my 1,000 hours 8-).
Thanks,
David

David:
You would be flying your jet in to display it. The exact reason why we
purchase the jets. I plan to attend as I enjoyed the flying and fun last
year. Roma let me know if you want me to assist again.
Lancaster airport has a great FBO and they bend over backwards to help out
the jet owners.
Not exactly sure what bill means by a real formation clinic. I would love
to take part in a simulated annual.
Fly Safe!
Zach

David,
Our jets have operating limitations with their experimental/exibition
airworthiness certificate. The limitation stipulate that you can fly
within a 600 mile radius of a "Home Base" otherwise you must notify
the FSDO responsible for the area that you are visiting.
The ops limitations also stipulate that all flights must begin and end
at the home base for proficiency flights except for an alternate
airport. The alternate is not specific however, so you could
theoretically land somewhere else within your radius to get fuel or
maintenance.
As Zach correctly stated the experimental/exibition status of our AW
certificate is so A. We can maintain proficiency in these aircraft,
and B. So we can exibit our airplanes in Airshows, movie productions
etc. Going to a formation clinic is part of proficiency flying. Every
time we fly the airplane it is either a proficiency flight or an
exibition flight.

Hi ,
Zach we could use your help, I think a tail off inspection on the L-29 would
be a good project, we can also get Bill Leavelle to help, Bill Geipel said
he could help also, I spoke with the L-29 owners at LNC and they will all be
in the air, Gary Cole and Marvin Mixon we be there, Blake from Houston might
be able to be there also, BTW he is a very good instructor, Maybe Ernie
Martinez can give us a update on the L-29 Air-Con project,,,,,,,May 14th
