Why would an instructor want to split the fuel with you? I assume anyone flying with you will not need to build flying time. Plan on spending $5000 for fuel to get checked out. Just count it as part of the cost of buying the airplane. Some of the airplanes brought in are missing parts. Get help to determine that. -----Original Message----- From: AINut Subject: L29-List: assembling a -29? --> L29-List message posted by: AINut A member of this list has a -29 for sale, but it is in pieces. Since I'd have to carry it across the US, this brings up a coupla questions: 1) are they hard to reassemble? Can a non-A&P do this? 2) can I fint the pieces into a 24' enclosed car trailer? More than one trip necessary? 3) anything to be aware of, or advantages to be had while it's apart? Service? Relacement? Inspection? Btw, who *does* the annual on these birds??? Thanks! I want to thank everyone for excellent feedback on my questions! I'm also glad that the newbie (me) didn't get roasted for asking basic questions 8-). Buy my L29 and fly it to Alabama. It is ready to go and you can use the ferry flight to your base As part of your training. Three of them came to Reno and I got one of them. Bob did an excellent job. If something was missing he stood by it and made it right and got the missing part.
