After about a week on the ramp in upstate ny a faa guy looked it over and said the damage had to be repaired before it could be flown. the damaged spot is about the size of a quarter and if you laid a flat edge over it, it would appear to be about 1/16th or a little less. of an inch deep. I cant tell if it was pushed in a little also or it it was actually that worn away. Where do I find out what is acceptable and what has to be fixed. The faa guy said if I could show him something that said what damage was within limits I did not have to mess with it but where the heck would I find that. The biggest issue is the plane is stripped so its not like I can use filler and re-paint the spot. Any suggestions, Ideas. etc. thanks Brian ________________________________ Message 2 _____________________________________ Time: 07:51:33 PM PST US From: Subject: Re: L29-List: wing leading edge damage 1.25 RCVD_NUMERIC_HELO Received: contains an IP address used for HELO --> L29-List message posted by: > call the FAA guy back out....and show him the (other) wing......tell him you fixed it....worked for me! > From: "Brian Colombo" > Date: 2005/05/05 Thu PM 09:09:39 CDT > To: > Subject: L29-List: wing leading edge damage > > --> L29-List message posted by: "Brian Colombo" > > ok on my newly acquired l-29 the leading edge of one of the wings was rubbing on the trailer someplace.
