--> L29-List message posted by: Ernest Martinez <erniel29@gmail.com> Marvel Mystery Oil is a great lubricicity enhancer. Also American K-1 is closest to the Russian GOST standard. Here is the page I was referring to. Go to the index and you'll learn everything you want to know about aviation fuels. http://www.chevron.com/products/prodserv/fuels/bulletin/aviationfuel/2_at_fuel_perf.shtm Ernie On 11/20/05, Roma L. M-701 was done for use of military fuel. Mlitary fuel is Jet A1 with three additives (one is for lubrification, one part for 100 000. French army use hitec 580, but they are equivalent in all armys. The other one is a anti-ice, one part for 1000, who is also useful to get a good blending for the lubrifification additive and is a batericical, French army uses digmee, it is the same as prist . The third one is an antistatic, not useful as already present in Jet A-1 ). Last flight manual of L-29 does not allow other fuels that military ones. I had a high pump failure in flight some years ago with my L-29 and the investigation made by Total company specialists and czech engineers draws the conclusion that use of Jet A-1 without additives was the reason of the failure. I use now Jet A-1 with two additives. As the risk is low, but exists, I stongly advise to be very careful for the use of fuels for L-29. Good flights.
