Hi guys,
Well, the 10 day forecast for Nut tree, Vacaville, VCB isn't looking real
good especially for me coming over the Sierras. Right now the forecast shows
me flying the L-29 IMC over mountainous terrain in snow and ice next Friday.
I don't mind flying the L-29 IMC, but not sure how well this thing does
packing a load of mixed rime ice. (Pitot heat and windshield bleed air.... Where's
the wing heat?) Guess I can always climb out over Reno in the clear and
pick up a IFR clearance and go to 24K well above the freeze level and get over
the mountains in IMC. Probably be faster to drive.....
Gonna have to keep an eye on the weather. We've been getting blasted every
other day by one low pressure system/trough after another.
