HI Bob, This has happened to me where the generator wouldn't come online after having the tail off. You will need a long set of jumper cables or a very heavy gauge wire and then: 1. Hook ONE lead to the Positive side of the battery and run it back to the voltage regulator box (silver box) at the fire wall. This is the silver box that has the single "finger screw" in the center of it. Loosen the finger screw and remove the cover and you will see 4 leads. Two leads coming in from the right side of the box and 2 leads coming in from the left side of the box while looking at it from behind the firewall while looking forward towards the nose of the airplane. 2. Find the POSITIVE lead on the LEFT side of the voltage regulator box which will be the TOP lead and they are labeled + and - . 3. Take your jumper lead and make MOMENTARY contact with the POSITIVE lead on the LEFT side of the voltage regulator box (It should be the lead on the top). Wear protective glasses and gloves! It will Spark rather impressively. 4. Try to start the engine and see if the generator will come online. If it doesn't shut down the engine and as the engine spools down, make MOMENTARY contact with the POSITIVE lead on the LEFT side of the voltage regulator box again. With the engine spinning the generator will be turning and you will get it this time. Sometimes it's in the wrong position and with the engine still spinning it will take care of that possibility. 5. Problem solved and system now again "flashed" and generator should come online IF that was the issue. It usually is the reason that the generator won't come on line and is an easy fix once the tail is off of the plane. A lot of guys think they have a bad generator or voltage regulator and end up replacing them both when there is nothing wrong with them. Have fun, Scott
