I am puzzled about use of airbrakes? my instructor doesn't like them at all. What is the appropiate use of them in the circuit, my handling notes only mentions to retract them after landing, but doesn't mention them at all apart from this. Yours in anticipation Neville Cameron (very Newbie)

Scott, I am looking for a flap button panel comple with the canon plug attached so it can be connected to the airplane. The complete panel with the isolation switch, air start, and fire extinguisher buttons. Do you have one of those? LOL...! I've got canopies also along with other parts, tires, generators, start boxes, AND factory overhauled zero time engines in the Pod. Maybe we can have a "who can sell it the cheapest" contest. Hi John, Yes I have one of those, but I only have one and they are a high wear and tear item because obviously it is used every time you fly. It also depends on which year plane you have. There are two different flap panel boxes and each one goes with a specific year aircraft. I will check to see if anyone has any spare ones or if I can get one out of Russia for you. Take care, Scott

I use them - but they not very effective in the circuit or at lowish speeds. I use them as well. it allows me to keep the turbine spooled up just a little bit more in case I have to go around while still maintaining the proper final approach speed. I am sure everyone is a little different but i just feel better that way. ----- Original Message ----- From: Jorgen Nielsen To: l29-list@matronics.com Sent: Tuesday, March 27, 2007 2:16 PM Subject: RE: L29-List: Air Brakes I use them - but they not very effective in the circuit or at lowish speeds. rear (instructor) cockpit flap box is L29.8200-21 front seat is L-29.8200-01 The difference probably revolves around instructor being able to take away flaps from front seat pilot. Probably a wiring difference . Other wise the same I believe. I would try to find one here. Could be years coming from Russia. (Experience speaking) I may have the individual flap switches for replacement if that is your problem. otherwise try Doug, Scott, Greg or Pete or maybe Roma Good Luck bob Schwartz ----- Original Message ----- From: SD737@aol.com To: l29-list@matronics.com Sent: Tuesday, March 27, 2007 11:36 AM Subject: Re: L29-List: L-29 Front Canopy Hi John, Yes I have one of those, but I only have one and they are a high wear and tear item because obviously it is used every time you fly. BTW, my instructor taught me that WHENEVER I increase throttle to check the button on throttle forward. I.e., throttle forward, brake button forward. They can be used on final so you can have a higher engine RPM thus you don't have the spool up time lag incase of go around. Also they deploy automaticly at 440 knots VNE speed. They also work good to help slow down quicker for gear extention and such.... Greg

L-29 Speedbrakes? LOL..... Do whatever makes you feel good. It's a switch that doesn't do much, so if you put them out and forget you flipped the switch it's no big deal. How about a new topic.
