O.K thanks chaps for the placard info. Next question: Is all of the hardware
used on the L-29 metric? What if any are reputable suppliers of metric
hardware that would be suitable for the L-29? What, if any, is the western
equivalent to the thread standard etc such as NPT, UNF, UNC etc?
Thanks,
Frank

Can anyone supply the details of the company that can produce a complete set
of English placards for the L-29 cockpit/s? I recall a thread I found a long
time ago deep inside the archives about it but I don't have any details.
Thanks,
Frank

I believe the screws that are used on everything outside alond the
entire tail are 10-24. Local hardware store should have them. Or
Fastenall.

Hey Guys !
Barum no longer produces the L-29 tire. The last run was done for the
Egyptian air force L29's while being overhauled circa 2002.
However, there remains a small amount of leftovers from this tire run,
in private hands in CZ. I purchased 10 sets of these a couple years ago
and had them shipped over here. They are in perfect conditon, stored
correctly and no rot whatsoever. Mine are all gone. Other choice is old
production tires made by Barum shipped to Russia circa 1970's or earlry
1980's. Some of these are around and available. I can probably get a
few more sets of the new tires from CZ if there is enough demand to make
an order worth the shipping.
About the elevator. Elevators are getting very dificult to come by and
all original ones were magnesium. Aluminum Reskin, done at overhauls by
military on selected L29 aircraft. (not all got them) My experience ,
expect to pay $2,500 to $4,500 plus shipping. Less out of Russia but a
big time delay, if you ever get them. Same with Rudders. $1,500 and up
for new. Either can be reskinned , but its a big job and you will
need a jig for sure with the elevator. Contact me off line if any
quesitons.
good luck

I talked with Darlene
6/30/2003
She can fax you a list with graphics and colors complete with items needed.
She said the Texture has high UV rating.
I tried to get some of the guys on the L29 list to order with me but as the
price is about $650.00 a set if one set is ordered I had no takers. Darlene
said she will discount for multiple sets ordered.
I want 2 sets so let me know.

PS I have a copy that she can Fax you

This is a serious proposition. Please be a serious buyer when you

O.K, what details, if any, does the group have on the re-skinning of the
rudder and elevator? I need specifics please such as skin thickness, mass
balance details and any other data that might have been supplied by the
factory/airforces. The easiest way to get it approved here is to follow what
the factory did so any written evidence would be most helpful.
Thanks,
