If anyone has done it. Do they actually get nearly twice the mileage
and have the same (or more) power?

I have 3400 pounds of thrust, as opposed to 1960 standard.
Down low in the trees, I burn almost more fuel in an hour than the airplane holds.
However, I can climb at 6 to 8000 fpm to altitude and at altitude I burn less fuel.
At 24,000 I burn approximate 90 gal per hour. Stock engine about 115 gph.
75 to 100kts faster and 100+ miles further. Not twice the range. Who wants to sit
in that airplane for that long anyway. Terribly uncomfortable.
Great airplane.
