Down low in the trees, I burn almost more fuel in an hour than the airplane holds. However, I can climb at 6 to 8000 fpm to altitude and at altitude I burn less fuel. At 24,000 I burn approximate 90 gal per hour. Stock engine about 115 gph. 75 to 100kts faster and 100+ miles further. Not twice the range. Who wants to sit in that airplane for that long anyway.
