I've removed the main gear as part of the total rebuild of my 29. In each main gear well, just aft and inboard of each main gear swing bearing there there is a long structural piece. It is held in place by three bolts on one end and by a bearing bushing on the other. The inboard bearing for the main gear "folding strut" PN L 29.501-11 goes through this piece. I can't find the schematic for this 'structural piece' anywhere in the parts catalog 1 & 2. I've removed the bolts on the inboard end. I've also removed the through bolt in the bellcrank that connects the main gear hydraulic actuator to the folding strut. How do you remove the outboard end of this assembly? The bushing looks like it is internally threaded for a pulling tool. I can't seem to see any clips on the back side of the part that retain it. This is the last thing I need to remove before stripping and repainting, so help is appreciated. I have photos if anyone needs clarification. Best regards Paul ________________________________ Message 2 _____________________________________ Time: 01:25:34 PM PST US From: "Paul" <paulhath@comcast.net> Subject: Re: L29-List: Main gear structural question Here are pictures of the assembly. I have a set of main L-29 landing gear. The main gear is something that gets used every time and cycles of their usage could become an issue with the FAA. Always good to have a spare set!
