Anyone got any photos or info on Viper installations they might like to share with me? Pictures, basic mods or considerations required for the successful marrying of airframe and engine? Any and all info much appreciated. I understand it's all probably proprietary information. I want to look at doing a mod here in Oz and we have nothing to go on. Just a few starting points would be very helpful. Regards, Frank Oz Sent from my iPad

There is a guy in California who is working with the FAA and he has re engineered the Viper engine installation that failed at the Reno Air Races. He is has developed a new mount and engineering to go with it and also has improved the Viper engine cooling issue. He contacted me about 3 weeks ago and I'll try to get his information again. Please Note! I'm not looking to start a dialogue on the L-29 List and I feel it clogs up other people's email who may not be interested in this topic of Factory Overhauled Zero Time Engines, so if you are interested please contact me directly to my email OFF list and I will respond to you and I'll call you directly if you include your phone number... Thanks.

Please contact me OFF list directly to my email. Are any of the L-29 guys out there interested in a factory overhauled, zero time M701 Engine with log books, tail pipe and nozzle sealed in the factory fiberglass pod? Just thought I would see if there is enough interest to put together a 40 foot shipping container (16 engines), OR a 20 foot half container (8 engines) to bring over some parts and engines from Russia to the

The shipping cost & the time required to fly over there and buy the stuff and get it loaded into a container obviously is something that necessitates having to make it work by ordering enough engines to fill a container, so I thought I would see if there is any genuine interest in factory overhauled zero time M701 stock motors. Of course, the total cost is determined by the cost of the engine plus shipping and customs and taxes, etc. Parts and engines are becoming difficult to obtain in Eastern Europe and in the US. A spare engine is only going to be worth more as these engines and other parts dry up. This is just a feeler email to see if there is enough of you out there who might want engines. Once again, if you are interested, contact me directly at my email Scott Douglass

Thanks Scott, Anything you can turn up gratefully received! Here in Oz there appears to be no approval process for engineers to get a Maintenance Authority for the M- 701 hence my interest in the Viper! I would prefer to keep it stock, or at l east have the option! If I must change engines I might as well look to impro ve the performance as well! If all goes well I will have a zero timed engine still in it's egg as well, which would be up for sale one day.
