Hey guys, Just completed the annual and during the maintenance run up we discovered that the stab trim does not work. Worked great last time I used it, but no so much anymore. It refuses to move what so ever. Here is what we know so far; The motor works. We connected it directly to 24v power and it works well in both directions. We think the problem may be with the control box just above the motor (the one containing the 4 contact/stop switches) or with the relays in the aft fuselage. Anyone ever saw this before? If so your ideas would be greatly appreciated. Cheers, DF Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=455692#455692

Could be some switch near and connected to the flaps. Thanks. I will look it up. I did blow the flaps down (I had to service the accumulator any way) to make sure the fact that the flaps were up didn't affect the stab trip, but still no change. I will look at the switches. I would assume it is a stop switch in the up position? D Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=455696#455696

Ok, we'll look at it, but we do have 22volts at the connector next to the motor. Is there a different pin for the power than the signal? D Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=455698#455698

Micro switch is stuck. Remove top wing strap and use long screw driver to actuate micro switches. I cant remember which wing?? remember the flaps need to be out of the UP position. So if the trim motor doesnt get that signal, it wont trim. After sitting for a long while, the micro switches get stuck in their last position. My suggestion is to jack the airplane up remove both wings and the entire tail section, replace all microswitches, replace both canopies so you can see if the trim motor works, order pizza for all of us and buy a cessna 152. Now if that doesnt work, just use the screw driver on the microswitch. It will be the sw that shows the flaps full up.
