It did stop eventually. Our second ship leaked out about 4 gallons over the spring months (march to June). Once she was out fying she stopped leaking. Took her to her hangar for a month (I have to travel for work) and she started leaking again. i think she's mad at me.... -------- Mike "Skidmk" Bourget Ottawa, Ontario Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=460791#460791 ________________________________ Message 2 _____________________________________ Time: 10:32:06 AM PST US From: John Cabrera Subject: Fwd: L29-List: Re: Fuel leak > From: John Cabrera > Date: September 28, 2016 at 10:28:41 AM PDT > To: l29-list@matronics.com > Subject: Re: L29-List: Re: Fuel leak > > Mine airplane has always leaked some fuel from the scavenger system. I do n't what others out there have experienced but leaking some fuel is normal. I just would not be able to quantify how much is normal. > I would recommend next time you have the tail off to start the engine and i nspect for fuel leaks. That's how I found out my fuel scavenger system was n ot working correctly. It will be obvious. The engine will start smoking f rom variously places and it will look like the hole thing is about to catch o n fire. > > John F. If under half full, there shouldn't be any fuel venting or very minimal. Fuel venting is normal as fuel will migrate from the internal tank to the fuel scavenge tube over a period of time. The amount depends o n the amount of fuel in the internal tank, ambient temp, and how the aircra ft is sitting. This is what I have found on my L-29. Hope it helps Anthony RoyalL-29 Maj Kissoff On Wednesday, September 28, 2016 11:29 AM, skidmk wr ote: not a ton.=C2- It did stop eventually.=C2- Our second ship leaked out a bout 4 gallons over the spring months (march to June).=C2- Once she was o ut fying she stopped leaking.=C2- Took her to her hangar for a month (I h ave to travel for work) and she started leaking again.=C2- i think she's mad at me.... -------- Mike "Skidmk" Bourget Ottawa, Ontario Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=460791#460791 S - WIKI - - =C2- =C2- =C2- =C2- =C2- -Matt Dralle, List Admin. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Other Matronics Email List Services ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Post A New Message l29-list@matronics.com UN/SUBSCRIBE http://www.matronics.com/subscription List FAQ http://www.matronics.com/FAQ/L29-List.htm Web Forum Interface To Lists http://forums.matronics.com Matronics List Wiki http://wiki.matronics.com Full Archive Search Engine http://www.matronics.com/search 7-Day List Browse http://www.matronics.com/browse/l29-list Browse Digests http://www.matronics.com/digest/l29-list Browse Other Lists http://www.matronics.com/browse Live Online Chat! http://www.matronics.com/chat Archive Downloading http://www.matronics.com/archives Photo Share http://www.matronics.com/photoshare Other Email Lists http://www.matronics.com/emaillists Contributions http://www.matronics.com/contribution ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- These Email List Services are sponsored solely by Matronics and through the generous Contributions of its members.
