Subject: | Front Canopy seal |
Ok, it was working. Now canopy closed and locked. N2 in the system (tested with
50 showing), push up the canopy seal lever, can here N2 moving. But no expansion
on the seal.
Anyone think of something other than a bad seal? (would I be able to hear N2 leaking
out of the seal if it were bad?)
thanks

Late to the party. U probably did most of this.
Front or rear?
If front, the usual issue is the seal in the fill-tube behind your right shoulder.
They bend easy, the rubber seal dries out. Sit in the front, facing backwards,
close canopy, seal it and listen. If you hear air at the tube, grab it and
force it tighter.
Does the seal inflate at all?
slide your ear or a plastic hose along the canopy. (One end in your ear.)
Move the canopy seal knob further forward or aft and listen. There is also a pressure
reducer valve, and the air valve at the knob can leak.
Spray soapy water along the seal.
If it is not inflating at all, it may be the switching in the canopy locking handle.
Have you used the outside handle when sealing it from the outside? Or wiggling
the canopy handle inside, pushing harder?
If its the rear, throw it in the pool. Watch the bubbles.
Or fly only in warm weather and dont pressurize.
