--> Lancair-List message posted by: "Ron Raby" <ronr@advanceddesign.com> Charles I was the first one to go to the builders assist program for the ES. I went for one week. during that week I closed my wings, horizontal stab and elevators. the time savings in not having to build those jigs is well worth it. It saves hundreds of hours of work. I definitely recommend the 2 weeks at the factory. I started my kit in July of 01 and have aprox 2k hours on it. there is probably a thousand hours left. I bought every fast build option available at the time. I could probably cut a third of that time if I had to do it again. It takes a while to get good at doing the composite work. I took a weekend sportair class on doing composite work in griffin Georgia. I would recommend taking a similar course before the two week builders assist. I wanted to build this plane and have enjoy doing it. All I can say is make sure that you and your family are prepared for the time commitment required. I have pictures of the work from the builders assist program. if you want them I can email some of them to you. Good luck Ron From: "Charles White" <c.f.white@att.net> Subject: Lancair-List: Builder Assist Program > --> Lancair-List message posted by: "Charles White" <c.f.white@att.net> > > Ron, thanks for your reply.
