<<How quickly we forget! It's only been a year and a half since 9/11 and
already we want things back the way they used to be? Not me! I for one
am confident that after the initial "over reaction" to thousands of
Americans being killed by airplanes that things will eventually get back
to a more secure "normal" for us all. I'm willing to put up with a
little inconvenience until then.>>

security deserve neither."
Let's see, who said that? I believe it was Benjamin Franklin. Maybe we
should remember that.

I agree with you Gary (& Ben).......only problem is, this quote may be a bit too
literate for some of the big government "please-hold-my-hand" yahoos that hang
around this internet.
Let's at least try to get this massive beaurocratic mess off our flying backs.

More stories of what a "minor" inconvenience from an insensative goat can mean
to a flight operation.

All,
I had a 4 hour delay the day the day Clinton had his hair cut on the end of
25R at KLAX, they should have cut his throat, I already had a 15 hour
flight time sector ahead of me, we just made it with minutes to spare in
our heavy crew duty limit of 20hrs, I was on the way to Melbourne YMML,
direct from KLAX.
What was so infuriating about the episode is that there are two perfectly
good, VIP spots ( and more secure than the eastern fence at KLAX, right by a main
road) on the western remote ramp, where AirForce 1 and similar
always go.
Cheers,
Bill Hamilton.

OK. Here is a place to start. Just send a decent check ($250) to the AOPA
PAC every year. For good measure, send one to the ASF. I've had a fair
amount of experience in that business and this organization is one of the
best - highly motivated, focused, well led and still connected strongly
with its membership. And when they ask you to write or call members of the
Congress or FAA, do it. But do it with a calm, reasoned and personal
approach.
Thrashing around with words on a forum like this doesn't do much to solve
problems.
Thanks for listening to my opinion.
