If by "brake" you mean a method of braking the motor to a stop after
running, the normal method is to arrange the switching so that the motor is
short-circuited when off. This will rapidly brake it to a stop. After
power is removed the actuator will not back-drive so it needs no brake to
hold it in position. On my ES I arranged a cam and micro-switch arrangement
that works essentially like that in all the Cessnas so I have a pre-select
actuation system.
