I was wondering if I could tap into the experience on this list to request your help on recommendations for things that I should get ahead of time and take with me. Any "lessons learned" to share from those of you that have been through it? Any "pre-packaged" groupings you bought from their list that you later regretted? I'm looking fwd to the project. The other thing I observed - this is one of the quietest groups I've ever seen. Is anybody else out there? This will be the third plane I have built. First a Kitfox, then an RV-8 which I am flying now. I'm really tired of building planes so I'm getting all the fast build stuff they offer...kit, firewall, engine and panel. Since I've never dealt with Lancair before, I don't have any advice about what they offer or you should do...but I might be able to help you with general building questions. I was on the RV list for about 3 years and we got 10 to 20 posts a day. I have been on this list for about 2 months and I think you are the second post. I went to a sportair weekend seminar. I went to a one week builders assist on my plane a lancair ES. At that time there was a legacy builders assist going on. They really get a lot done and that was two years ago. One thing that I did that really helped allot was I hired a professional builder to come out for a week. He showed me many composite techniques that really helped through the project. I would also recommend joining the aeroelectric list. After we talking about the beautiful Lancair's. So what are people building these days. I am seriously considering a 360. Are there any land mines I should look out for when buying a partially complete kit?
