Hello-- My name is Gordon Parker - Live in Sequim,Wa. Fly out of Diamond Point
on a 2350 FT runwway 260 el. I have a neighbor who recently bought a ten year
old IO360 with the big tail. He is very concerned with the brakes. He hasn't
landed it here yet. He has been in contact with Lancier, Grove and Matco.
He doesn't have a computer and excess to all the good stuff that comes over the
web. I personally fly a tailwind with a 160 and have no problem. I would like
to contact someone that my friend could talk to that might be able to give
him some good answers. Thanks

I have many hours in a Lancair 360. The airplane is capable of landing
in a 1000 feet if flown perfectly. I would say the average Lancair
pilot should be able to land in 2300 ft at the field elevation. But, if
the pilot is not confident in landing there he shouldn't even try until
he has been able to perform at that level on a regular basis using a
longer runway.
