LightListers,
Latest construction report.
As of Friday (6/30) N17EF is assembled with minor wiring and control hookup
left. Since the July 4th holiday weekend was upon us, the local DER wasn't
available Fri PM. So the Air Worthiness Inspection is now planned for next
Wednesday afternoon (7/5). We'll spend Wed AM doing the final hookups, maybe some
taxi tests. First flights will be done by Nick, starting maybe Wednesday late
after the Inspection.
Hope we have good weather.
Life is Short, Build Fast.
Earl Ferguson

Hey Earl,
That's great news. I look forward to seeing N17EF and flying formation
with it in 31BZ. My current plans have me arriving back at SYI on Thursday,
6 July, so I may be there for the big event. Preliminary forecast weather
for Thursday at SYI looks good.
Blue Skies,
Buz

I realise that in the early production runs things will be subject to
change, but I would appreciate some clarification.
The empty weight as stated on www.arionaircraft .com has increased to
800lbs. With the light sport limit of gross weight at 1320 lbs, this
means
the useful load is limited to 520lbs for the light sport complant
version.
Right?
I guess the 2200 engine would result in a lower empty weight. What would
the
useful load be with that engine?
For the "standard" version with the 3300 engine, the gross weight is
1425lbs, giving a useful load of 625lbs.
Are the above correct and the latest figures, or has the new fuselage
not
been taken into account in these numbers?
