At this point I have removed the 2200 Jabiru as an option for the LSA Lightning because we will have to redesign the fuselage to move the engine farther forward to compensate for the lighter weight. We may do that in the future but right now we don't have the time to consider it. Pete _____ [mailto:owner-lightning-list-server@matronics.com] On Behalf Of Colin J. Kennedy Sent: Sunday, July 02, 2006 7:16 PM I realise that in the early production runs things will be subject to change, but I would appreciate some clarification. The empty weight as stated on www.arionaircraft .com has increased to 800lbs. With the light sport limit of gross weight at 1320 lbs, this means the useful load is limited to 520lbs for the light sport complant version. Right? I guess the 2200 engine would result in a lower empty weight. What would the useful load be with that engine? For the "standard" version with the 3300 engine, the gross weight is 1425lbs, giving a useful load of 625lbs. Are the above correct and the latest figures, or has the new fuselage not been taken into account in these numbers? Colin K. Owasso Oklahoma
