I've had an EKP IV for the past 3 years. I am very pleased. It is easy to use and has all the data bases that you would want. Every time that the factory has come up with new stuff, I've sent my unit back for free upgrades (WASS). The only thing that it does not do is pull in weather. From what I understand, one of the Garmin units can function as rudimentary back up 6 pack instruments?? I'm not sure about that, but that is what I heard. Back to the EKP; I've flown my ultralight trike from NY to Virginia, Virginia to Florida, and Virginia to NW Pennsylvania; all with the EKP. I wouldn't fly without it! I use the EKP as a back up GPS in my Cessna and will use it as back up in all the planes that I fly. Thanks for the info John. I'm pretty impressed with what I see and I hear that WX is in the works with those guys. Gizmo makes a nice panel mount for it and you are right; it is easy to take with you as a backup when flyinganother aircraft. Do you know if it will interface to an autopilot? Jim!
