Nick Would you please put me down for one of the aluminum spinners, are they the same shape same as lightning [length] and are they polished? Other spinners fit but they are short and don't look cool. If you sent out the fiberglass spinner last week I'll return it and wait for aluminum, if that's ok. To Group: Some may have gotten this e-mail already , but to let everybody know; The Aluminum spinners from Cummins are about 2 weeks away from being ready. They include spinner cone, back-plate, all hardware and are balanced. They will be for sale for $425.00 from us or your dealer. Just would like to get a general idea if any one else is interested, i know of a few that are but let me know if you would like one fron your lightning, or (esqual LS!) and what balde you are using, wood or carbon... Basically we're putting gap seals on the gaps between the Lightning's flaps, the ailerons (top and bottom) and the underside of the elevator. Yesterday Nick simply sealed off the flaps with 100mph duct tape and went for a flight to see if it would effect handling negatively. On Monday we'll be doing a baseline and hopefully on Tuesday and/or Wednesday be doing the modifications and testing. This was not a real scientific test as he just wanted to check handling, but reported that he got a "favorable result" in terms of speed gains. How favorable we'll wait until we take a real scientific data sample. So far we're on the level with about what our "best guess estimate" would say. We still have to see if it is practical. This test will be using a type of mylar for the gap seals and will be made to remove if Arion Aircraft decides that they don't want to keep them on the demonstrator, or if we tear one up or whatever. Really anxious to see the actual results and I think that Nick is excited about it too. Want an inexpensive way to increase performance without gaining weight, then this might be for you. More to come in the next 2 weeks.
