Subject: | Jabiru 8-Cylinder Installation in a Lightning |
Anyone out there know the official word from Arion on
the installation of the Jabiru 8 cylinder in the
Lightning// Beside the one builder in Australia, is
anyone else installing this engine// I assume he is
the guinea pig// Since the Vne for the Lightning is
208 mph, I assume that the 8 cyl will cruise near to
the Vne// Is the engine just too heavy to be feasible
or is the size a problem with installation// After a
year or two flying the 6 cyl will the 8 cyl be the
next logical step up?? I for one would like to
push the limits of the Lightning and find a way to get
it to blast through the sky at 250 mph, even if it
means it has to be flown solo or whatever is necessary
to achieve speed. I brought up the Innodyn jet
engine, currently in development, on the Lightning
List some time back and believe most thought it wasn't
feasible. With the price of AVg Charles
