Really nice plane and just turned 300 hrs on it yesterday. I have been getting ready to paint and have been doing some test with some different make paints. I am going with the Dupont "Nason" brand 2 stage urathane. It really lays down nice and you cant get it to run. Its also very light and has the UV in the clear coat. Again thanks for the web site address. Wow! Looks like Ryan flew in the Battle of Britain in Hurricanes or Spits, especially strafing that poor bugger in the pickup truck towing the trailer across the end of the runway! And the line of flight curling up to the left.......amazing grace! Green Landings looks like the best fairways at my local golf club, and who's the lucky sod living in the 2 storey joint at the RH end of the runway? Never thought I'd see a bathroom with a view down the centreline just a wingspan away - assume you guys have some kind of curfew, or is Green Landings some kind of residential airfield combo? Thanks again for feeding the daydreams, I'll have to upgrade my broadband speed so I don't have to wait 30 minutes to view these gems. Cheers, Paul. ________________________________ Message 5 _____________________________________ Time: 07:52:58 AM PST US From: "Brian Whittingham" Subject: Lightning-List: Lightning Operating Manual Tex, I'm waiting for a 4 seat version of the Lightning before I decide to build. Actually owing for my million dollar education (slightly exagerated of course) is preventing me from doing so. I do have somewhere between 60-75 hours in the Lightning though and love it. I have a 3-view of the Lightning in the Flight manual document. This was the original draft of the manual, courtesy of Buz Rich, but I added the line drawings. Had a more current version of the line drawings with exhaust stacks added in the profile view and the width of the elevator added in the overhead, but can't find that document. This document has probably been updated several times with Arion, but I figured that some of you might could use it or might like to see it. Buz followed the standard format for operating manuals, but I think that you'll agree that he did a superb job. A lot of the warnings and cautions writings comes from his years of experience and experience in aircraft and with the Jabiru engine and in flying his Esqual with Lightning Stuff on it. If any of you need a copy, just send me your regular email address. It's about 2 Megabites file and won't attach to Matronics. Brian W.
