Looking foward to the meeting in Shellbyville. And a idea for the group, how about a trip to that seat cover place(B@Bautotrim, or a little talk from him on the types of work he can do on a Lightning. Tex

Hey Nick, Really love that photo on the Arion home page! Is that the new sliding canopy option, or the new "open cockpit" option..? 8^) And, does the crash helmet come standard???????? ALL, Unfortunately, I will be unable to attend the open house. Tucson is a l ong way from Shelbyville, and my plane will not be flying until around year end. I am sorry I must miss this opportunity to rub elbows with other Lightning builders, but I will be with you in spirit. Mark, I plan to be there of course. Please tell me when you want me to discuss the record trip, and how long you want to allow. I suggest that the trip itself should take about 20 minutes to present. I suspect there will be some questions, maybe enough to fill up an hour. What do you think? BTW, I second Tex's suggestion about B&B. I will be needing an interior now and haven't decided how to do it. Earl ************************************** http://discover.aol.com/memed/aolcom30tour

Colin, Nashville would be the closest commercial airport. You can rent a car, probably 45 minutes drive, dependent on traffic of course. Shelbyville has several restaraunts and hotels to stay at. I could also recommend Murfreesboro to stay. It's bigger, more to do, more selection on eating and lodging, and it's about 30 minute drive time away. It is also on the way from Nashville to Shelbyville and therefore will be convienient. I am unfortunately not going to be able to attend as I am really hashing out my thesis and revising that as well as halfway through my CFI. If at all possible I would highly recommend it. This is a good time to get to see a "naked" Lightning and get some expert advice on building, test flying, engine, future, etc. All my best to the crew in Shelbyville. For anyone flying in to Nashville and renting a car - if you reserve a car from Enterprise under the Jabiru USA Sport Aircraft corporate account you should get a pretty good rate. Just reserve under our account then pay with your credit card. OK. My ticket is booked to arrive very late on 20th - so don't do anything interesting before that, unless it has to do with Beechcraft :-) Looking forward to seeing old faces and new. Colin K. Yup, we're having the open house 21-23 Sep. Another suggested activity during the weekend is a visit to the Beech Museum in Tullahoma. Tullahoma is about a 25 minute drive from the Shelbyville airport. Or, better yet fly over!
