Fit the cowl with no shims ...the rubber moutns settle in after 35-40 or so and you may have to put a shim under the bottom mounts to compensate...but do not do this to start as it will initially change the thrust line and if the cowl is fit to that it will not fit later. nick Jim Langley <pequeajim@gmail.com> wrote: Tex: I asked that exact question at Arion today. They install the engine with no shims and then if for some reason, it sags, shim it accordingly. Fit the cowl for a straight install, no shims. I installed my engine with no shims, but allowed for a tiny bit of sag. I am about to fit my cowl and would like to compensate for any if its prevalent. Tex --------------------------------- Don't let your dream ride pass you by. Make it a reality with Yahoo! Autos.

Anyone out there in Lightning land just want to get into a finished Lightning at a low price? I think Ryan at Green Landings still has his for sale. I have flown in that airplane twice and can overwhelmingly endorse it. It really flies great and he can give a demo ride to potential customers. For the price he's asking, it's a heck of a deal. Check his website out at www.greenlandings.com. charles --- Bill <sales@billandruth.net> wrote: > Hi Brian, > > At last count there were 17 flying as I recall. i found a company based in the BVI's that does insurance for the Lightning in the region. Haven't gotten a quote b/c I haven't finished my private pilot's license yet. Hope this one will work out. charles --- nick otterback <vettin74@yahoo.com> wrote: > Fit the cowl with no shims ...the rubber moutns > settle in after 35-40 or so and you may have to put > a shim under the bottom mounts to compensate...but > do not do this to start as it will initially change > the thrust line and if the cowl is fit to that it > will not fit later. > > nick > > Jim Langley <pequeajim@gmail.com> wrote: > Tex: > > I asked that exact question at Arion today. Some of you guys (and gals) might like this. Kevin E's NXT, flying formati on with airshow legend Sean D Tucker and Sean's son Eric. See: http://www. airshowbuzz.com/files/photo/gallery/photos/orig_6636_77565.jpg Also, keep forgetting the jab of John Sharp's racing team called team Nemesis. Well, people point out that it spells "Sissy Men" backwards. All in good fun and thought that worth a laugh.
