He wanted to know how my project is going. Real interesting guy. He said the agility of the Lighting brought back memories of the fighter. He said top speed was 850 mph, normal cruise around 500 and landing speed 180. it could roll 720 degrees in one second (essentially corkscrew). After flying one of those, he said every other plane seemed boring. He flies in Oregon over forests and does acrobatics, so he needs a chute. Just thought this might motivate you to get your license. Google T-38 and check it out. He took a demo flight in the Lightning and could feel the responsiveness. Charles --- Jim Langley wrote: > Here are a pic of Charles's Lightning and the man > himself. I was up at Green Landings a few months ago for a demo flight and there was a Lightning up there that had BRS resently installed. I remember asking Ryan about the weight. Post some pictures, if you get the chance. -Rick -------- Cherokee driver, but feeling the need for speed! They don't show the installation of the brs or anything close-up. The install of the brs is basically the same as on Nick's prototype. OK (~6 days to kit delivery) -----Original Message----- From: owner-lightning-list-server@matronics.com [mailto:owner-lightning-list-server@matronics.com] On Behalf Of Charles Dewey Sent: Thursday, December 06, 2007 1:23 PM Subject: Lightning-List: Re:Things are Popping at Green Landings --> Big things have been happening up at Green Landings Flight Center. Ryan doesn't do too much bragging on the Lightning List. If I were him I would post the photos of the first flight etc. to show everyone GL is a great place to build a Lightning. On November 30, my Lightning N3134S with BRS parachute 3150 made it's first flight. Ryan said it handled superbly in the air, with no problems on the first flight other than the instruments which will need to be adjusted, which is commmon.
