Hi Lightning Lovers, I have a mystery to see if you can help explain; when I use 10 degrees flaps for takeoff in the Lightning, they raise automatically during the takeoff. I have never had to retract the flaps after takeoff. Any ideas? Anyone else noticed the same phenomenon? Merry Christmas, Linda ------------------------------------------------------------------------- -------

Linda, Sounds like the old hand resting on top of the stick trick to me. However, in my case the flaps always go down, not up. But I'm left handed. Nope, Earl, that's not it, because it happens when I fly her airplane as well. But, tell me, what weird position are you in to have your hand resting on top of the stick? Is that some new world record setting trick? Happy Holidays, Buz **************************************See AOL's top rated recipes (http://food.aol.com/top-rated-recipes?NCID=aoltop00030000000004)

Earl, That is definitely not it; the hand never rests on top of the stick. They are really retracting without pilot intervention. Linda, it sounds like the flap motor gears, get to alitude and lower the flaps at about 80 mph or so and see if they gradully go up from the air pressure against the flaps. Tex
