Kennedy" Subject: Lightning-List: Sebring Thought you all might enjoy this report from Sebring posted by "Gort" on a Sportcruiser Yahoo list: "Once you see a White Lightning in person...and 166JG awaits here in all its glory...if you are objective you will know that the SC is no longer the best looking LSA on the market. JG is so wide and sleek with a tapered Lancair-like tail it screams speed and indeed will likely produce 150 knots with only a prop change in nonLSA livery. The baggage area appears twice as large and three times as usable as SC (OK - no wing lockers). The SC appearance really suffers from the necessity of having a high cowl to accomodate the gearbox. Not as much as the brand new Gobosh (708GB, 8548U, czech/polish same price for composite or metal low wing with big swept up tips) or Tecnam but that low flat 3300 is responsible for half the "looks" triumph for the Lightning. Just comparing the nosewheel fairing design, aerodynamics, and apparent strength between SC and this gave me a sad sick feeling. I guess SC is still the better value but this has suddenly become a very tough call." Colin K.
