Degrees up and down or trailing edge inches up and down, without contacting the wing? The neutral point being where the aileron trailing edge is aligned with the flap trailing edge. Colin K. That phrase goes like this: "...and insert an AN3 (or 4 or 5) of appropriate length." It has taken me a while to figure what this special code phrase really means but, now I have translated that innocent phrase into its true meaning, which is: "...and insert an AN3 (or 4 or 5) that is not in the hardware that came with your kit." Perhaps you have found other special code phrases of your own in the Lightning manual and have figured out their true meaning as well. If so, please pass them on so others can benefit and maybe get a chuckle or two also. If I don't know that the hardware kit is missing that particular bolt, nut or washer then I won't know to update the hardware list. The original hardware list was developed while the prototype was being built and we have made changes based on feedback from builders. With your input we will continue to improve the hardware kit. Mike and I are about to build the new '08 demo plane. We will work out of the current hardware kit that is provided by Aircraft Spruce. While we are building we will make notes to our current hardware list to make it the best possible. Please understand also that sometimes the thickness of a particular layup will change a bolt length (i.e. bolts securing the firewall to the fuselage flange). Mike and I will work hard to identify the possibilities and make appropriate adjustments to the hardware list. Bottom line; please continue to provide us with feedback. It is through your feedback that we will continue to improve the Lightning kit. Have a great day!
