Hi Buz Depends on the Positive or Negative vibes and the consumption rate at the time. An interesting sideline is my factory has been hit by a lightning Strike twice in last 6 weeks and both times the front gate was welded solid, including the padlock. We are still debating if it was welded from the bottom up or the top down. Cheers BK ----- Original Message ----- From: N1BZRich@aol.com To: lightning-list@matronics.com Sent: Saturday, February 09, 2008 1:38 PM Subject: Re: Lightning-List: Have you got the Clap? Thanks, BK. Your suggestion has been added to the list of possible Lightning newsletter names. Does lightning strike from ground to cloud "down under"? ;-) Buz ------------------------------------------------------------------------- ----- Who's never won? Charles, As of two weeks ago I am signed off to take my CFI checkride. As of abou t 1 week ago and 6 days I am unfortunately temporarily grounded due to bei ng very sick. I am hoping to get the results of some tests back and then h ave a few more to go through, but if it is as they think it'll pretty much keep me grounded for another month or two while I get over this. After tha t I fully intend to go up for my checkride and be certified in the short te rm. Then plan on CFII by early next year if I can make the time and money. My reference of flying other peoples planes was in reference specifically to the Lightning aircraft and not owning one of my own. Brian, Sorry to hear about your illness. get well soon. The reason why i asked you about cfi is that since you have a lot of hours in Lightnings, you could maybe come up to Green landings and help us fly off some of the first 40 hours in the new bird. plus, I need a cfi with time in a Lightning to fly with for insurance reasons. That's amazing, BK. I assume you had no lightning strikes at your place before you got involved with the Lightning. Could be your factory has now become a Lightning Rod. You may want to wear rubber shoes. Buz **************Biggest Grammy Award surprises of all time on AOL Music. (http://music.aol.com/grammys/pictures/never-won-a-grammy?NCID=aolcmp003000000025 48)

Arion, in Greek mythology, was a horse gifted with the power of speech. A descendant of Poseidon. As such, Arion is clearly a fitting name to have on a newsletter masthead although Buz may have to adjust his orientation a bit. I suggest 'Arion's Voice' as a name although I think it sounds a bit stiff. As a retired Navy person and Trusty Shellback I like the Poseidon connection. Hey Earl, So in the old days Arion was a talking horse. In somewhat modern times, his name was Mr. Ed and he had a TV show. But thanks, good buddy, for your newsletter name suggestion - I will add it to the list. I guess being an ex Navy type you probably did get excited when Nick announced the sub kits. One of the guys that works for the Jabiru dealers next door used to come ov er and joke about that. Something to the effect of "why did they pick such a racist name?" He then would proceed to do this snap to and open handed salute type of a thing. It might be a little over the top, except for he i s a black man. If you're a good natured person then you'll love a builder assist at SYI. The guys enjoy a good laugh. Also, if you're an RC aircraf t kind of a guy then you'll love it. Break times consist of either a smoke break or RC fun, or both at the same time, before going back to work. The day that I moved to TX they were dogfighting, or playing bumper planes or whatever with some little electric RCs. Lots of fun. Kind of neat place t o be around Shelbyville. It's not a large airport, but long runway, a coup le of different kitplane manufacturers, a strong EAA following here with mo nthly breakfasts, RC aviation, military training, warbirds, and propliners. Good place to bring a camera! You can also routinely find Beech 18's and DC-3's still hauling cargo. I don't mean the turboprop versions either, t he old roundies spittin oil that help reseal the tarmacs as they go. Charles, Would love to come up, but don't know if I can get away from work here. At least not for more than 4 days at a time. Strange work schedule. It m ight be possible though for me to finish my CFI and then fly with another l ocal CFI so that he has hours in a Lightning and then you could get trainin g from him. Let me know how it goes with the build process. Never built m y own airplane, but the Lightnings looked easy and sturdy compared to most kits I've seen. I had a lot of people tell me that it didn't look like it would be big or comfortable enough for very much of a cross country, but I flew for 10 hours cross country in one day and many days I spent around 5-6 hours flying time off. It's kind of like a sports car, smaller, faster, m ore responsive, but still, not too bad for a cross country. (Of course I'm ready to stretch my legs after about 2.5 hours in anything) Brian W.> Dat e: Sat, 9 Feb 2008 20:27:37 -0800> From: cdewey6969@yahoo.com> Subject: RE: Lightning-List: To Brian W.> To: lightning-list@matronics.com> > --> Light ning-List message posted by: Charles Dewey <cdewey6969@yahoo.com>> > Brian, Sorry to hear about your illness. get well> soon.
