Any word on when the kitplanes magazine ar ticle will be published? Also, haven't seen it published anywhere, but wha t is the change in range with the new 30 gallon tanks? When I was around S YI we spoke several times about a new hatch design that would allow for loc king and also to get into the plane from the outside. At the time it was j ust a hangar dream, but Nick had some ideas. Looks like it finally made it into production and that is a great edition. I personally think that the new wingtip extensions, besides providing a higher glide ratio, will be a great sale due to a slightly more stable cross country platform, but mainly due to the increased good looks in an already sexy looking aircraft. One change that I did not know of that will really be beneficial to newer pilot s is the Lightning's new trim system. Many of the trim systems were very s ensitive. It was easy enough to use, but this new system will allow for fi ne tuning the system. Again, the ability to tune the amount of pitch contr ol will be a welcome edition as it will allow for a "sportier feel" or a mo re "Conventional feel". I will get some pics for your newsletter as I make my way back up before summer. Keep up the good work Buz, Brian W. There are two color pins, (I can add more if needed) - Use yellow if you are a customer - Use red if you are a dealer/distributer Use the "shoutout" field to describe yourself, or add your web address. For instance Green Landings Flight Center www.greenlandings.com (Telephone number) The map is nto perfect and has some bugs, but it IS a great way to us to see at a glance where everyone is, and for new customers to gather information about distributers and customers. With the new Lightnings having the extended range, is it possible to convert an old Lightning with the 8 gallon less tanks to long range? One day I would love to be able to fly to Europe but am going to need more gas to do so. Is it possible to just have an extra tank in the cabin, like in the passenger seat, that has a rubber hose feeding one of the tanks?? --- Jim Langley wrote: > Over the next few weeks I will be updating > www.jimslightning.com to include > some of the new stuff that is happening in the > Lightning world.
