I'm not crazy about any of the four. I like
lighting buzz better than those.

Subject: | Lightning Newsletter, Issue #2 for real |
So I've got another suggestion for a name. After a brief search on the int
ernet, I found the following names for different newspapers along with thei
r meanings. These names usually follow another word, sometimes a city name
, a state name, or even specific idea. My research can be found below:
Gazette ' an official journal, many times published by government
Chronicle ' recording of historical events, giving equal weight to import
ant and arbitrary information, for the purpose of recording and sharing eve
nts
Herald - Foreshadow
Observer ' one who observes, not involved
Dispatch ' official report sent by haste
Star ' celestial body
Time - a unit of measure
Packet ' a small package or bundle
Reporter ' that which reports
Examiner ' that which examines
Courier ' a messenger
Messenger ' carries a message
Guardian ' defender of persons or property
Telegraph ' Greek for writing afar
Journal ' daily written record of experiences and events
Standard ' regular and widely used
Advertiser ' that which advertises
Constitution ' a set of principles that specify something
Out of all of the above I think that the defintion of Chronicle would be wh
at fits the newsletter most appropriately. It is a record of something tha
t I think will make history. It does attempt to let the people be the voic
e and therefore gives equal weight to each story. It was concieved in orde
r to share information and events and as a way of creating a record to help
others who are trying to find additional information. Based on that and t
he previously mentioned needing to stay true to the company name more than
the model name, I'd propose the name:
"The Winged Horse Chronicle(s)".
I thought it had a nice ring to it. Kind of sounds like a saloon in the U.
K. Yep, replace Chronicles with the word tavern and I'm pretty sure that p
lace exists. Just a few more thoughts and another name suggestion. Eventu
ally we'll settle on a name I'm sure. Brian W.

Good research, Brian. I will talk about the whole newsletter name issue
with Nick and Pete while I am in SYI. Hope to fly out there either this
Thursday or Friday depending on weather and winds. Will probably be there about
a
week, then home to get ready for Sun-N-Fun.
