Have our heroes arrived yet? Is Buz still sleeping on a raft?
Yes, and no. The SYI flying team arrived Monday around 1730 and were open
for business this morning. I didn't get by their booth until just after noon
due to my other commitments with the American Bonanza Society, but they
seemed to stay busy with lots of people visiting the booth all afternoon.
Weather today was nice after an early morning fog that burned off by mid
morning. Have not had time to visit Green Landings in Paradise City yet but
will try to get by there tomorrow. The Wisconsin Lightning dealer is here (
"Short thumb" Tom) and was seen carrying a snow shovel with a for sale sign
on it. He indicated it was light sport compatible.
Three good forums scheduled for tomorrow. 1100 in tent #10 is Jabiru
engines, 1200 in tent #11 is the Lightning aircraft, and 1300 in tent #11 is
Jabiru aircraft. Then on Thursday at noon is the Lightning list get together
at noon. Meet at the Lightning booth.
I was able to move my tent (from the same spot it has been at for the
past 5 years or so) and am now on slightly highter ground 25 feet away.
Many areas of the field are still wet and muddy and therefore lots of
aircraft parking areas are closed and will likely remain so. I heard this
afternoon that they closed the field for new arrivals until some depart or the
muddy areas dry up some to allow use.
More to follow,
buz
