Both are at the intersection of I-24 and US 231, 18 miles from the hanger. I've stayed at both. no sign of drugs at either, but then I may not know what to look for. Ramada is a little nicer, about $10 more but both were OK. Maybe my standards are lower than Katie's, your mileage may vary. Earl **************Psssst...Have you heard the news? The one to REALLY stay away from is the Safari Inn on the south side of I-24 on Hwy 231. Earl Since I am familiar with the open air drug markets of Baltimore City, I find it amusing those motels are seen as major drug centers. The Knights Inn seemed quite calm to me when I stayed there last year. However, family events will prevent my attendance this year. Doug Koenigsberg **************Psssst...Have you heard the news? Good morning all, For those of you who have not found it as yet, the Engine Manual and all of the current SBs are found here: http://www.usjabiru.com/ There you will find more complete instructions on mounting the engine, removing the supplied prop flange and installing the new 2" prop extension procedures along with diagrams on wiring up the engine to include suggested cockpit switches as well. The manual is not shipped with the engine. Also, the engine is shipped upside down in the crate so the crate sides and top need to be removed to get to the engine shipping hold downs so you can remove it from the bottom of the shipping crate. Additionally, you will need to figure out how to turn the engine over (get it right side up) so you can sling it for mounting. For my install it required three people to do this and mount the engine onto the motor mount, two to hold the engine steady and one to maneuver the engine hoist to align it into the engine mount. This requires some care and thought as there are some very breakable parts on the rear of the engine and there is very little room for fitting them through the mount while attaching the engine to it. Go slow and be verrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrry careful!!! Nick, I recommend that this be added as a reference in the "Installing the Engine" section of the builder's manual. Additionally, Nick recommends that you install the cowl so that the spinner is about .125" high. The rubber mounts will sag after 40-50 hours or so of engine running according to Nick. Question: For those who have their birds flying now with those kinds of hours on them are they seeing this kind of engine "sag"? Bill in Tucson with kit #49 with engine installed, removing and stalling prop extensions and the cowl today. Build and fly safe!!!

Another resource I found helpful is the video of the Jabiru engine installation on a Zenith 601 as presented in a seminar/workshop put on by Jabiru USA. http://homebuilthelp.com/JabiruSeminar.htm You will see some different solutions to some of Bill's experiences. We installed my engine slightly high as both nick and Ryan suggested. I only have 4-5 hours on the airple and am currently not flying it for about a month. Jim!

Just passing along some local knowledge for safety's sake. My best friend is a social worker who has clients that live in the hotel across 231 from the Knights Inn. She said it's so bad that most social workers won't go over there unless they have police escort. On the other hand, there is a Cracker Barrel right near there that I used to eat at all the time, and never felt threatened.
