Hi Jim,
on another subject, how difficult room wise was it to fit the Odyssey
EFIS into the lightning. We are currently looking at fitting either the
Odyssey or Voyager , we would prefer the 10.4" screen but am concerned
that the caonopy hinge will touch the connectors at the back of the EFIS
unit.
Cheers Helmut.

Nick,
I am sure that most home builders will be ordering interiors soon
and would like some pictures and instruction on doing so. What plans
have do you have for the manual?

Well, if the Voyager was available, I would have used it. If you have the
new panel, the Odyssey will not fit. It will in the old with some
modification to the hoop.

Lightnings come with minimal upholstery.
The build centers have custom upholsterers who made their own patterns and
offer several levels of style. For each of them it is proprietary. You can
order from the custom guys, but they would not give up their patterns.
The interiors also add weight and reduce room. It is my private opinion
that all one needs is a good seat cushion and a little carpet. Spray specked
paint on the rest and go light.
But if I were Nick, I would not spend any time on trying to explain how to
do interiors.

I did a minimal interior for mine made of vinyl, (actually a nice leather
look alike). Originally, I did vinyl covered side panels, but am getting
ready to replace them with the same with no hardboard. This will be lighter
and will also form to the side of the fuse giving me about 1/2" to an inch
more cockpit width.
You can look at what I have on my web site www.jimslightning.com
Go to the build log; (it redirects you to my Kitlog site; and there are
pictures of my interior. Also, under Multimedia, there is a bunch of
Lightning and Esqual pics that might help.

Sounds good. When you order it from the guys in California, tell them that
we talked about the Voyager, and that you are putting it in a Lightning.
