Lynn,
You results are much better than mine. I don't have data at the same conditions,
but the max range cruise used for my coast to coast record trip came to about
101 KTAS (116mph true) at 8500'. Density alt varied, this is an average for
August weather - OAT 18 to 21C. Fuel burn was 4.2gph at altitude. I set power
for fuel burn, so RPM varied a bit and I didn't record it, around 2750+/-
from memory. Note that this isn't a normal cruise, it was based on minimizing
fuel stops - 4 in 1840NM or an average of 386 NM (432SM) per leg. Based on
fuel remaining at stops, I could have used a slightly higher power setting/fuel
burn and maybe taken 5 or 10 minutes off the total trip time. Since I had
to spend the night (10 hours) on the ground at Demming NM because of the Light
Sport limitation it wouldn't have made much difference.

Subject: | Arion Lightning Newsletter for October |
All,
The Lightning newsletter for October (Issue 1-9) should be posted now at the
Lightning web site:
_http://www.flylightning.net/_ (http://www.flylightning.net/)
I sent it to Pete (and Jim Langley) this past Sunday for posting. I think Pete
may still have been out of town then, but it is probably posted by now.
This issue covers the recent Lightning "homecoming" and annual fly-in at SYI
as well as the standard updates on factory, dealer, and builder flyer news.
Look for a special feature by Dick Cleavinger on one of his recent flights
in Colorado. You will also be able to see the very first newsletter "Centerfold"
of the month which should help to make this issue certainly a "collectors
edition". Or not.
As a side issue, I often have trouble calling up the latest newsletter immediately
after it gets posted (I have no idea why) so if anyone has any suggestions
for this computer "challenged" operator, I would like to have some suggestions.
Here in the southeast, October is generally a great month for flying weather,
and this year seems to be no exception. Hopefully everyone is enjoying it
and will have some interesting flights to write about for future issues. I
may be the exception to that as I "over G'ed" my back and am still having pain
just going about daily activities. Oh well, thanks for pain killers. Please
continue to send in articles or information that you would like published.
It is a great way to share ideas and help other Lightning builders and flyers.

Looking Forward to reading it Buz.
Also to the group just because we are real excited about it. We all know
what the tip extensions were designed for specifically and I can tell you
that we are now deeply seated in testing and documentation for that.Look for
more detailed info at the Sebring event.

Buz,
Welcome to Senior Citizenhood. In addition to your Geriatrics Internist you will
need one or more Orthopedist (one for each joint). We also have a family Oncologist
and I hope you are spared that privilege. Tri-Care for Life becomes
a household word.
