Buz=2C This plane is owned by the Colling's Foundation and is based here in Hou ston. It is an F-4D and I don't believe that it was ever converted to a QF . It is flown by a few different retired military pilots. This one is pai nted to resemble that of Steve Ritchie and Charles DeBellevue. The CF also has a flyable Huey=2C TA-4J Skyhawk=2C S2 Tracker=2C F4 Corsair=2C B-17=2C B-24=2C B-25=2C and the worlds only P-51C that is dual controlled. When I lived in Florida where they did a lot of maintenance on their bombers they also restored military vehicles for them. The had a Willies=2C Halftrack =2C and German searchlight. Once the engine is replaced this will once aga in be a regular flier at airshows. I have=2C unfotunately=2C only been aro und to see her fly once. It was pretty impressive though and even in the a ir you could tail the size difference from the F-16's that I usually see. Brian W. Congrats on the 500 hour milestone Buz, and always interested to read pieces like improving travel time by navigating around high and low pressure systems. I'll take a look at these references posted by some of you, but the rule of thumb of clockwise round a low and anti-clockwise round a high is of course the exact opposite down under, indeed anywhere south of the equator, not just in Oz of course. So down here we would fly to the right of a high and to the left of a low to improve ground speed. On another topic, the Aussie dollar is quickly pushing imports like the Lightning off our radar. We've lost 40% in 4 months against the greenback. Ouch! Still have the dream it will all come good again. Evening all. Paul Smith. Paul, I certainly understand what you are saying about the Aussie dollar vs. the US greenback, but what hurts you guys certainly helps us when buying th e Jabiru engine. But as to purchasing a Lightning kit, remember that Nick develop "sub" kits so that you don't have to buy everything as once and all ows a builder to get started without a large outlay of cash. You might want to consider that. I also understand the "reverse coriolis effect" down under, but have always wondered if "stuff" flows "uphill" when down under? Inquiring minds want to know. :-) Blue Skies, Buz **************Play online games for FREE at Games.com! From: "BrightLine" <info@brightlinebags.com>
Hello Everyone, My name is Bryan Smith and I am with a company called BrightLine Bags. I do not want to offend anybody by posting on this list, so I apologize in advance if I have. I am a student pilot as well. I posted on the Commander list with the help of a Commander owner and received wonderful response from quite a few Commander owners. We make a brand new type of Pilot Flight Bag. It is like nothing you have seen or used before. If you use a flight bag, I am quite certain that if you go to our website at www.brightlinebags.com and click on the demo video http://brightlinebags.ipower.com/videopage.html, you will be impressed. Thank you everyone for this forum. If you have any questions, you can contact me directly at bryan@brightlinebags.com. Thanks again.
