Very spiffy.
My idiot question for the day is; what is that strange object beside their
strip that looks rather like a train signal?

A train signal.
Dont ask, it made sense to somebody.
Actually it holds the wind sock and the railroad is nearby. Since the
runway ends are not visible to each other, some have suggested it would be
helpful to prevent head-on takeoffs when the winds are calm....if illuminated.
But it does make about as much sense as selling beer and wine at truck
stops.

Good morning everyone
My question today has been addressed before but not resolved...."gear
leg shimmy".
I tried reducing the tire pressures as Buz suggested which seemed to
help a little. The shimmy begins at around 20 mph and increases
significantly! At times, the entire plane shakes. I have ordered a
better set of tires from Goodyear and will balance them during
installation. Maybe that will help.
Question: "Has anyone successfully remedied the shimmy problem on a
Lightning"? Maybe a strut brace of some sort?
Thanks for your time.

Bob,
When the newsletters got so large that the martronic email list would
not allow them as attachments, we started posting the monthly newsletters at
two web sites as listed below:
The Arion web site is: _http://www.flylightning.net/_
(http://www.flylightning.net/)
When there, go to the third line down from the top to a list of the various
sections ending with newsletters on the right. Just click on newsletters and
when you get there you will see a list of all the previous newsletters.
Click on the issue you want to read or download.
The other place to see them is Jim Langley's web site:
_http://www.jimslightning.com/html/home.html_ (http://www.jimslightning.com/html/home.html)
Hope this helps.
Blue Skies,
Buz
