To group,
Arion aircraft is working towards SLSA certification as most of you know. In
order to sell E-LSA Lightning we must have a very detailed ASTM compliant
build manual so a builder could in detail re-produce the original aircraft.
This will also help with improving the build manual for amateur builder as
well. With this in mind any one with helpful suggestions to the manual
please email them directly to me at nick@flylightning.net
We will be placing updates very regularly over the next few months to the
original manual on the owners site. Section 20 has been posted today.

Peter,
Great story and photos. I will definitely get it into the Lightning
Newsletter. It may not be until April because the main story for March will be
a report and photos from the Sebring fly in which was held in late January.
Please send me some more photos of your "jet" when you get the additional
graphics applied.
Blue Skies,
buz

Hi Nick,
I have recorded a number of issues with the book on my build log at
http://www.recreationalflying.com.au/blogs/members/seal-1094/
Some of these have been fixed in recent updates, some are still there. If I get
a chance today I will email you a summary, that's presuming I can get an email
through, it seems to be a bit hit and miss recently.
An important point that needs attention is the version information in the manual.
Sections are being updated but the "last update" date in the index is frequently
not being changed. For example sections 20, 30 and 41 have been changed
but the dates have not. There may well others which I have yet to discover.
The documents have page footers which pretend to have revision number and date
information but these are not being updated when the documents are revised. This
makes them both useless and misleading.
These inadequacies mean that the only way to check for manual updates is to download
each section and compare against our printed copies. This is time consuming,
prone to error and hardly an acceptable solution.
A couple of hours may be required to get these things in order but once done very
little additional time will be required in the amendment process to maintain
the information.
--------
Cheers, Selwyn

Hi Paul
?
Oodnadatta is a tiny isolated town in Central Aus. And consists of the Pink Roadhouse,
General store and Pub. Population about 10 whites and 300 Aborigines.
It used to be an important stop over for the railway many years ago, however the
rail now by-passes the town and it would only be visited by a small no. of
tourists each year. It has a great air strip which was used for training during
the 2nd world war. We only went there because so few people do.
?
Cheers Peter
