I fixed my gear leg shimmy at 20 MPH. It was time for new tires and remembered a post on this forum about changing to a heavier tire. I ordered two 500X5 6PLY two groove monster retreads for the mains. No problem with balance and now no problem with shimmy. I did need to Make some slight changes to the wheel pants. I be a happy camper. Now if I could only fix the noise in the radio. Wayne N123WL Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=234128#234128

Hello Wayne I also installed a pair of Monster Retreads from Dresser Tire about a month ago. The shimmy went from 20 mph to 11 mph and 23 mph. I balanced the tires because they were very out of round and had heavy spots. It didn't help much. Good luck to you. Gary I did balance both tires. The right side balance was perfect at the fir st mount. The left side, I needed to rotate the tire on the wheel 4 tim es. It finely works just great!! Still waiting for you to show up at Lakeside (AZ05). Wayne and Gary, There will be another "bit" about shimmy in the next newsletter, but until then, what tire pressure are you running in the mains? Try 25 to 28 psi and see if that helps. That tire pressure has helped several of us. Heck, with those "monster retreads" you could probably run less than that and not have a problem. Buz **************Need a job?
